How to use the software
After installing the program, you should have a link to the program on the Start menu under programs:
- Click on the Windows Start button in the bottom left hand side of the screen.
- Click on Programs.
- Find The Flower and click on it.
- You should get another menu item with The Flower on it, click on it.
The program should now run. The first time you run the program, you must enter your username and registration number. If you bought the program online, we will send you this in an email after receiving your payment. If you bought the program on CD, the information should be on a lable on the CD jacket.
At the bottom right hand side of the screen, you will find a "Register" button and two text entry fields. Enter your username in the first entry field by first clicking in the field with your left mouse button and then enter your username using the keyboard. Enter your registration number in the second field by clicking in the field with your left mouse button and then enter your number using the keyboard. Press the register button. The register button and the two text fields will disappear if you entered the correct information. In it's place you should see the copyright information.
Now use your mouse to drag cards off the stack of picture cards in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Next to the cards are the lables cards. You can drag any these, one at a time and put place them into the squares below the cards at the top of the screen. Dragging a card is done, by clicking the left hand mouse button down on a card and keeping it down while moving the card to the required position. The card is released by releasing the left hand mouse button. When the button is pressed down on a card, you should hear the name of the card being said.
If the card is released anywhwere in the correct square, it should click into place.
Every time the game is started, the stack of cards will be in the same order as the cards layed out at the top of the screen.
You can press the "Again" button at any time to restart the exercise. The cards in the stack will be shuffled everytime you click the again button.
If you click the "Mark" button, tick marks will appear above the picture cards and below the lable card when they are in the correct positions. A cross will be displayed if the correct card is not in the position.
The "Reset" button will also restart the exercise, but will sort the cards in the original order, which is the same as the cards layed out at the top of the screen.
To quit the program, press the "Quit" button.
The program was written to fill the whole screen. We found that this was better for smaller children who tend to click all over the screen and often can't find their original program again.
We hope you have lots of fun with this program. We would appreciate any feedback that you might have. Please contact us on softwaresupport@bright-ideas.keystroke.info with any question, suggestions or feedback.
